Medical Update

Went to Toronto last Tuesday morning,April 12th, for another MRI and an ultrasound with contrast.
The doctor who did the ultrasound said he liked what he saw but was also looking at my MRI results and was going to make a determination after he looked at all the info.

Afterwards we went to see the oncologist. I told him that the other doctor liked what he saw and that it could be good news. The oncologist tried to call him right then and there but he wasn't in his office. So it was decided that I would continue on my medication and he would book a followup CT scan and I would see the surgeon on the 2nd of May and I was to get her to call him so that he could in on the conversation.
The nurse told us to go to the pharmacy and then check back with them at the desk and update my appointment card.

We went to refill my prescription and then headed downstairs for some lunch.
While we were sitting there Susan started making hand gestures to someone and pointing... Odd. I turned to see the oncologists nurse on the floor above us.
They were having some sort of sign language conversation..

Finish our lunch, go upstairs to see if they had the next appointment booked. They couldn't do that there but the lady said someone would call.

I'm wondering if we need to see the nurse because it still seemed odd after all that hand gesturing back and forth that it was just to check the appointment.

I went into the back where the patient rooms are and I see the oncologist in the hall. He comes over to me and says to get Susan from the waiting are. We stand in the hall and he tells us that what the spots are on my liver are not cancer........
I am to stop taking the medication as it isn't needed. I can return what I still have to him and they can use it for other people who may need it.
I almost cry right there.

I am feeling pretty good at the moment. I suspect I will still need to be checked regularly going forward as cancer is still dangerous but the news is good.

When I find out any more I will post it.
