Drivers, generally

This morning I was driving into work and coming up to a signaled intersection. The light changes to yellow and I start to slow down. There is a car in the lane to my left which passes by , Silver Nissan Ultima, Ontario plate AHWT 164, with a woman driver. I see that she is on her cell phone. It doesn't look like she is paying attention.
As I am coming to a stop she continues on. The light changes to red, she cruises right through.
I see this sort of thing far too often. It's the sort of thing all types of people do. Young, old, male, female. It surprises me that there aren't more collisions than there are. And this is a small city.
I'd hate to live in Toronto or Montreal or Vancouver where traffic is greater and people are in more of a rush to get where they need to go.
Having said that, I caught up to her at the next red light. :)
